PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The goal of the Lancaster Independent School District is to provide a high quality education for all students. The Special Education Department achieves this goal by providing a comprehensive system of educational services for all students with disabilities in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

Perhaps you think the doors of education are closed to your child. It is never too early or too late to explore a child’s educational opportunities. If you suspect an infant, child or young adult of having a developmental delay or disability, Lancaster Independent School District can open a window of hope for a brighter future.

Each child is unique and some have special needs or concerns when it comes to learning, but all have the right to an education. Services at no cost to the family are available to all eligible individuals from birth through 21 years of age regardless of the severity of their disability.
